Dear friends,

I have spoken the same idea to several retail people when i was working with an IT distributor. But they are all installing windows without any charge and customers also demand windows. Customers who buy a pc for the first time don't know even what is windows or linux. So, my opinion is to create a growing demand for linux from the users

WHAT WE CAN DO
===============

1. Make a gathering of Computer teachers, System admins, and Lab assistants from nearby schools and colleges by inviting them

2. Organise a one-day seminar for them to create awareness on our mission. Give live installation classes. Give them ubuntu CD's

3. Encourage them to start small LUG like groups based out of their institution, give memberships to nearby students outside the college

4. Offer them support and help from our side at all times. Organise events by ILUG at needed, leading locations

Thus we can create a state-wide demand for linux and a growing user base. We can think of retai outlets after achieving this

regards

Anoop Viswanath
