It is with great sadness that I give you the news about the passing away of Shihaz,<br>
on Saturday (22/11/2008) after a cardiac arrest. Shihaz was an active member of the<br>
ILUG mostly offlist, since he believed in more of personal interaction. He was also<br>
the one who gave us ideas for transforming our meetings.<br>

The members of the group have a learned a lot from him and will always remember him.<br>
Shihaz also has helped ILUG Cochin in initiating several activities,<br>
thereby helping us reach closer to our goal of a self sustaining community.<br>
<br>
Let GOD bless him for all the good he has done for mankind.<br>
<br>
Shihaz was single and is survived by a mother and two sisters (both married).<br>
Let us hope that his family is able to overcome this shock.<br>
<br>
The community will always be there to help them when in need.<br>

May I suggest a few itenary for the stall,<br>
1.) Rahter than displaying a few systems around in the stall, I wud suggest that if u could have a library of different installation disks of a few common flavours for different procs and variants handy, u could distribute if some one is interested to try out things. Media cost & simple overheads should be collected.<br>
2.) An installer fest - If the visitor is coming in with his system, could help him to install GNU/Lx on his system.<br>
3) Emphasise the fact that different OpSystems can co-exists without compromising the system - thru posters/banners etc. We could also demonstrate Live CDs for the sake of apprehensive visitors ..<br>
If u could arrange the same. Things would work out better to bring people to the community. Wish u all the very best for a grand expo !!<br>
