Welcome.

I came across another Mathematical tool, which may interest Mr. E. M. George
and Engineering students is FreeMat. FreeMat is a free environment for rapid
engineering and scientific prototyping and data processing. It is similar to
commercial systems such as MATLAB from Mathworks, and IDL from Research
Systems, but is Open Source. http://freemat.sourceforge.net/

Ubuntu users can get FreeMat package from http://www.getdeb.net/
